omnistand-with-macbookBurt and I scouted out some products when we attended CES 2014 in Las Vegas. We found some cool things that we thought might be useful, so keep your eyes peeled for some upcoming product reviews.

We’ve been searching high and low for a decent MacBook dock. It hasn’t been easy. Back in December, we placed a Hengedock in one of our client’s offices for review. It can be occasionally glitchy, but awesome if you don’t plan on taking your MacBook with you every day. We kept looking and found the OmniStand at CES.

The difference between this stand and a dock is that it’s super simple. It doesn’t really provide the functionality of the dock, but it gives you lots of options, is super light weight and can be used for multiple devices. Burt had a 17″ MacBook Pro on it. I have a 13″ MacBook. You can even use the additional grip inserts to set it up for tablet use. It relieves pressure off your wrists and raises it slightly to help with height. If you want to travel with it, you just have to fold it up and put it in your bag.

Definitely a handy, simple and versatile tool to have!
