You guys! On this day, one year ago, Burt and I sat down at my kitchen table and started building our website. We received all of our paperwork in June, but decided to hold off on launching until Monday, September 23, 2013. I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since then. It seems like yesterday.
Statistically speaking, they say most startups fail within their first year. We didn’t. I can’t thank all of you enough for your continued support as we grow. The truth is that I wanted to have all kinds of cool stuff ready for our first birthday. I wanted to make cool infographics to show you all the cool places we’ve been and all the cool stuff we’ve accomplished. But the reality is that we’re a startup. In fact, we’re celebrating our first birthday by working on a big project that requires long days and a lot of data crunching. I tried to write this post last night, but the internet at the hotel we’re staying at was down. Let’s be real here. Burt said last night “someday we can look back on this and laugh.” Someday. (Hopefully.)
I didn’t want your support to go unnoticed, so I thought I should at least put something up. Hopefully we can take some time next month to generate some cool stuff and officially celebrate our accomplishments. Again, I can’t thank you enough for all that you have done to support us and encourage us along the way… especially our parents, other family members and our closest friends.
Here’s to hoping for another anniversary post next year… I promise that it will be much cooler than this one.
